@@Dakotahblueexotics lol I get enough excitement when he gets loose, more than enough, but he's getting ok to handle, he tucks in after a few like he's comfy and has enough of out of the cage holding.

I just put worms in a bowl and then when it's cricket time threw crickets in the bowl. They usually all got it within the first few weeks

My fault I'm trying to do impossible .

My 14 inch cuclura lewisi and plants I know it's hard but should be possible.

So recently I lost a baby crested gecko for 14 hours. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*Honestly, I wish that I had put it into its enclosure IMMEDIATELY upon opening it. Just because it seems docile and slow doesn’t mean that it can’t SUDDENLY make a run into your couch. Don’t be like me. Do the right thing. It’s not worth it to get a picture, never mind multiple. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* But if it happens: I was able to find lots of pieces of advice, but not in one place. I wanted to share everything I tried to ensure that I found it safe and as fast as possible. If it’s day time, your best bet is to wait until night time to make a moev. It’s so hard to feel like you’re doing nothing, but there is still plenty to do to prepare. 1. Probably the single most helpful tip possible: GET A RING CAM. Return it when you’re done if you’re worried about the cost. 2. Set up the camera to face the area where you lost it. I was able to expand the view, so definitely do that. It’s better to have a camera watching rather than you being in the room physically. 3. In view of the camera, place your 5 “traps” 1. First, place a bit of gecko wet foot and some water (in bottle caps) inside a small bowl - the wider the better. Second, put some plastic wrap tightly around the bowl as if you were trying to seal food. Third, cut a slit big enough for the gecko to get in. It will be much harder for the gecko to get out of this trap than in. I have no idea if this would have worked, but I think it’s worth a try. 2. Set the enclosure you have for it in view of the camera with the door open and food inside. You should already have lots of hiding spots in the enclosure, so it will be an inviting place if it comes across it. 3. Set a heat pad partially under the enclosure (full heat pad underneath might be too hot) 4. Set an inviting hide on the heat pad (I used a cork tube) 5. Put a feeder insect inside a critter keeper (more noisy than say glass or ceramic) in view of the camera 4. Many people said to block off the entrances with a towel or something, but, if like me, it wasn’t possible, you can set up the room(s) next to it to be uninviting: 1. Keep the lights on in adjacent rooms, lights OFF in the room you lost it. 2. Have fans going by the entrance(s) to adjacent room(s). Sadly, the ring camera doesn’t alert you to small movements. I had to watch the camera view carefully for hours. It helped to either be on the phone with people while I watch, or listen to a long UA-cam video about something you like. I didn’t keep my eyes on it the WHOLE time, but once 11pm hit, I was watching very closely. I didn’t catch it on my first time seeing it, but once I saw that it was in an area that didn’t have anywhere to get lost in, I made my move and caught it. When I was finally able to relax, as I was falling asleep at 3am, my mind was still “searching” for it. What a stressful day. Good luck to anyone that experiences this nightmare.
